SYNOPSIS
‘Burnt Dreams’ is a fantasy romance film. It follows the story of an aspiring artist, Aiyanna Onai (Jane Roe), who is also descended from a long line of witches. Aiyanna dreams of attending a prestigious art school but gets declined for admission. Furious and jealous, she vows retribution on all the applicants that were accepted. One of whom include a talented cartoonist, Jamie Carter (John Doe), who was a childhood friend of Aiyanna. She uses her magic to get her first target humiliated, and the next one to drop out. After reading a letter from her late grandmother, she promises not to use magic to get revenge. Aiyanna comes up with the plan to befriend Jamie, and use that to get her revenge. Yet unwittingly she slowly falls in love with Jamie. She breaks her promise and resorts to magic to try to wreck Jamie’s dreams, but stops before the spell could be completed. She confesses to him and starts to get to terms with the rejection and her grandmother’s death.
The most prominent part would be the dreamcatcher. In Native American culture, dream catchers were thought to only let good dreams pass through and bad dreams would stay in the net. The dreamcatcher obviously symbolizes dreams; both Aiyanna’s as well as the other participants; their dreams to go to art school and become successful artists. Yet in Aiyanna’s case she never fulfilled her art school dream. Next is the burning page. There is no literal fire, instead it represents Aiyanna. While the dreamcatcher represents the participant’s dreams, the fire represents Aiyanna and her need for revenge. The destruction she causes and want to cause is all represented by the fire. Something else to look at is the colors. Most of the poster is in bright, different colors which represents magic and fantasy. Purple, in the title and smudges of colors on the dreamcatcher, particularly signify the fantasy genre. On the other hand, the tagline which already suggests she’s going to do something, is reinforced by the subtle hints of red. Red represents blood and death, yet it also represents passion and romance, which not only gives clues to the plot but also to the genre.

Another excellent poster full of creative flair and ideas. Good demonstration of Photoshop skills and structure throughout the entire project. It's very quirky and very indie in its design which gives it a definite individual and original style. Well done.
